Restaurant of the Week: Sci Fi Dine-In Theater at Disney's Hollywood Studios
This restaurant has one of the more unique themes found in Disney World. Modeled after Drive In Theatres, you sit "under the stars" in 50's era cars and watch old clips from science fiction movies while you dine. The movies clips are really cheesy "B Movie" classics. The majority of cars hold 6 people sitting in three rows of two seats. There are a few tables in the back of the restaurant. One of the items that the Sci Fi is best known for is the milkshakes. The rest of the menu ranges from burgers, to pasta to sandwiches, ribs and salads. This dining experience is all about the atmosphere, and sitting in the "cars" was a lot of fun. We kept talking about how much fun Lexi and Lily would have had there. We found this spot to be an unexpected treat. I had heard the food wasn't great so I didn't put it on our list, but it was similar to the other more casual sit-down restaurants we went to. We enjoyed our meal and left feeling nostalgic and happy!

Attraction of the Week: Rock-n-Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith at Disney's Hollywood Studios
As far as "rides" go, this is my favorite. You can't go wrong when with an indoor roller coaster featuring a high-speed launch of 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, three inversions, rock-concert lighting and a specially created Aerosmith soundtrack blasting from 120 onboard speakers in each coaster train. The initial take-off takes you to a force of 5 G's (Note that lift-off for the space shuttle only reaches 3 G's)! My favorite elements, in order, are (1) the Aerosmith soundtrack, (2) the take-off, (3) THE SPEED, (4) the inversions, (5) that it's all indoors. My only complaint is that the ride doesn't last long enough!
Let me know what your favorites are! What are you looking forward to the most? It would be fun, since we have some less-experienced Disney vacationers going with us, to share our favorites and perhaps plan to do some of those things together!
